"As someone who’s bi, I have a pretty..."
As someone who’s bi, I have a high standard for dating apps actually feeling inclusive, and this one did a decent job. I felt welcome using it, and the filters made it easier to find people I’d actually want to talk to. There are still a few weird profiles here and there, but overall it’s been a good experience...

"The questions actually helped me find my kind of weirdo"
I thought the compatibility questions would be kinda stupid at first, but they actually made chatting way less awkward and random. Ended up meeting someone who actually got my weird answers, lol. Saved me from wasting time on total duds

"Account deletion felt more complicated than it should’ve"
OkCupid was fine overall, but deleting my account was more of a hassle than I think it needed to be. I had to poke around in the settings, go through a few extra prompts, and it felt like they were making it harder than necessary. It did eventually work, so I’ll give them credit for that, but for a service like this, closing an account should be quick and straightforward. 3 stars...

"Pretty simple app"
I mean, it’s a simple app overall. I wasn’t totally sure what to expect at first, but it’s easy enough to use and does what I needed without much fuss

"Made it easier to figure people out"
I liked okcupid because it gave me quick little clues about what people were actually looking for. I didn’t have to overthink every message or guess if someone wanted a relationship, something casual, or just someone to chat with.
The questions helped too, even when some of them felt a little random. I kind of used them as a shortcut to see if we might click, and I met people who were upfront, which made the whole thing feel way less awkward...

"Notifications are literally useful"
I’ve actually had a good experience with okcupid’s notifications. I mostly get alerts for things I care about, like when someone likes me, sends a message, or matches what I’m looking for. It’s not constantly pushing random stuff at me, which I literally really appreciate.

"The filters really help you find the right people"
I actually found the search filters super useful. They made it way easier to narrow things down and find better matches without wasting a bunch of time. I feel like other customers would appreciate that too, especially if they know what they’re looking for.

I was expecting some hassle, but canceling was really straightforward. No billing issues or weird charges afterward, which I appreciated.

"Privacy settings I actually remember liking"
The main thing I remember liking about okcupid is how easy the privacy settings were to deal with. I’m sure there were other features I used, but that’s the part that stuck with me. I could decide who saw my profile, hide it when I wanted a break, and just not feel like my whole dating life was sitting out in public. It made the app feel a lot less stressful. Not saying it’s perfect, because I’m probably forgetting a few annoying things, but compared to some other dating sites I’ve tried, this one felt way more manageable

"Nice mix of real people"
I liked that OkCupid didn’t feel like it was just one kind of crowd. I was seeing people from different ages, backgrounds, and orientations, which made it feel more like real place than some other apps. Not every chat turned into anything, but thats normal with dating apps. Overall, it felt open, easy to use, and comfortable.

"Feels safe to use"
I’ve been using OkCupid for a bit, and one thing I appreciate is that it doesn’t feel sketchy with my info. The privacy settings are easy to find, even the little details like what shows on my profile and what I can keep private. It just makes the whole app feel less stressful to use.

"Works good for me"
The messages load fast, which is nice, and I haven’t had any weird login problems so far. It just kind of works like it should, not much else to say really.

"Works okay, but the ads are a lot"
OkCupid is actually decent overall, but the ads pop up way too often sometimes. It still works fine, just gets a little annoying when you're trying to use the app...

"I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how many..."
I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how many real people are around to chat with, even late at night. It’s been a easy experience overall, and since I’m sharing my honest feedback, I’m expecting the offered compensation to come through as promised.

"I wasn’t really expecting much, especially..."
I wasn’t really expecting much, especially since I’m in a small town, but it actually found people nearby even when I was traveling. Kind of annoying that I have to admit it, but it works better than I thought.

"Messaging got frustrating fast"
I used OkCupid for a while, and the messaging was what wore me down. Some messages wouldn’t show up right away, and a few conversations either disappeared or got buried somewhere with no obvious reason. I also got tired of having to keep figuring out and explaining the same thing over and over, like whether someone could even see my message unless I paid. After a while, it just made the whole app feel slow, confusing, and kind of pointless...

"I paid for just one month, kind..."
I paid for just one month, kind of on a whim, and it was worth it. The filters actually worked well, which surprised me a bit, and I ended up seeing way better matches than before. I wasn’t expecting much, but yeah, for a month it felt like money well spent.

"Actually helped me understand matches"
I wasn’t expecting much at first, but then I checked the match reasons and was like, okay, wait, this is actually clear. It makes it easier to see why certain matches show up instead of just guessing.

"Better Matches Than I Expected"
I was kind of surprised by OkCupid. The matches felt more like people I’d actually want to talk to, instead of just random profiles you scroll past and forget about. I had a few good conversations and even went on one date that turned out really well. It’s not perfect every time, but you can definitely tell the match quality is better than I expected.

"Felt Misled at First, but It’s Improved"
I’ve been on and off OkCupid for years, i felt a little misled by some of the changes at first. It seemed like things were being made better, but the app felt messy and confusing for a while. After the updates though, it does feel easier to use and less all over the place. It’s still not perfect, but I’m starting to like it again...

OkCupid Q&A

My daughter told me this was a good "free" dating site for seniors, so i put a fairly complete profile and checked a few days later and had several "likes". however, when i attempted to view them, i was unable to unless i paid for a membership. why is it called "free?"

“It is free becausr you get to talk to your matches without paying. Those likes are in the deck you swipe through. So you CAN and WILL see likes eventually. I made a review on the site. I have paid for likes in the past. My full review will be released within 48hrs. Check it out! And all the best to you.”

Is okcupid a good site

“It's good only if you absolutely feel the need to burn your money and time! Seriously speaking, don't repeat my mistake! I had wasted plenty of time and emotions there trying to find a gem among rubbish. Just go to a decent and efficient site with good reputation and you will have plenty of choice there as long as you are a normal and adequate person. I'm using https://j4l.com/402007 and I'm content with it. I found several ladies that I really like, I had meetings with them and now its the time to choose for me!”

Does men listed in this site actually look for casual dating or long term dating?... i have been cough in 3 different situations where these people are avoiding meeting in person... advise

“This answer varies with other sites, so i won't speak to those. But as far as my experience with OKCUPID (fifteen years). They answer is yes they do. Not EVERYONE is hunting for a spouse. The current options on OKC are: Hookups, New Friends, Short Term, Long Term. You also can selected if you prefer monogamy or ethical non-monogamy. (There are a LOT of men and women that understand that monogamy is a failed paradigm to expect everyone to adhere to, its not one size fits all. If it was, there would be very few cheaters.) I have found what people select (casual, short term, long term) doesnt really matter. Relationships will naturally seek their logical state. If you meet a girl looking for a hookup and you both have OMFG chemistry, why would you never call her again? That actually happened to me. I met a younger woman stating she ONLY was interested in a summer fling because she would be returning to college in September. It started as casual sex in July, but when when September came we wanted to continue seeing each other. And in the Spring we both realized we had fallen in love almost instantly, we were holding back because we were trying to enforce the HOOKUP paradigm. Most women (and i assume men?) that think they want monogamy will state that in their profile and will ask you your intentions when you start chatting. If you say anything other than "i am monogamous and am only interested in serious relationships" they will tell you goodbye. This is coercion. You have to agree to a committed monogamous relationship with a total stranger... BEFORE YOU EVEN MEET. Take a moment and forget how you have been programmed by society and read the last sentence again and ask yourself if that seems reasonable. But if everyone is demanding it, then everyone thinks its normal and reasonable. I was 40 before i discovered that there are "normal" people that understand humans are not inherently monogamous, society and religion force it upon us and shame us if we aren't in compliance. What happens is that lying, cheating, and betrayal have become normalized, whereas honesty and authenticity are punished. But to answer your question, on OKCUPID there are decent, attractive, fun, intelligent quality people seeking casual and long term relationships. Be honest in your profile and say that you are honest and value honesty in others, even if the truth isnt convenient. Don't say long term if you really want casual, there are other people also looking for casual.”

How do you retrieve deleted messages?

blackleopard701

“The best way to retrieve deleted messages from OKCupid is to contact the company help line as a kind of authority (INTERPOL, Police... ), else, deletion of messages from the personal user members area is dead and gone.”

Hi ad! are this site and the okcupid on play store are the same apps?
